Here's what we found for "Buying or bidding limits"

Buyer activity limits help make eBay a safer place for our users. As you build your positive feedback, your limits may decrease.

When you run into buying limits, a great way to lift them is to put a credit card on file as additional verification. You might be charged a small amount to authorise the account, to be refunded within 7 to 10 days.

To put a credit card on file:

  1. Go to the Account tab in My eBay and click Personal Information.
  2. Under Financial Information, click Edit.
  3. Enter your credit card information, then click Continue.

Unpaid items may result in buying limits

You might run into buying activity limits if you have items you haven't paid for yet. When this happens, you can pay for your items in these ways:

  • Place the item in your eBay shopping cart and pay for it right away.
  • If you have unpaid items in your cart, go to your cart or Purchase history and pay for them.

Approved payment methods include PayPal, credit card, debit card, and in certain categories, cheque or wire transfers. When you use an approved payment method, your purchased items are protected by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

If you have an open unpaid item case, you can pay through the Resolution Centre.
